Windy Boats – established in 1966 by the founder Hugo Vold – the son of a fisherman whose father named his boats “VINDY”, thus his family was well accustomed to the perils of the oceans. Sound build quality combined with superior seakeeping would be the foundations of what remains successful 50 years on. Windy still have the desire to be the best. All Windy Boats bear a hallmark of quality with no compromises, to this day they have achieved five decades of boatbuilding excellence, and centuries of Scandinavian seafaring heritage.
Windy have built multi-award winning sports cruisers and have moved very quickly on trends, while maintaining their solid reputation and prominence within the industry. The legendary Norwegian build quality and exceptional handling characteristics on the water have made the brand an ideal choice for many. One fact you may not know is that the model names reveal wonderful words that geographers and climatologists use to name different wind formations across the world.
Today, Windy are still successfully building technically advanced sports cruisers that deliver class-leading performance, fuel economy, seakeeping and a superior fit and finish. These safe, practical and inspiring offshore cruisers put families at ease and give them the confidence to do more. The Windy ‘Special’ projects department are responsible for the accolated SR range from Windy, which is the pinnacle of Scandinavian engineering and boat building. The ranges are from 27ft to 60ft and features custom superyacht tenders and capable chase boats that have an impressive range, bombproof build and stunning good looks.
Windy Boats is wholly owned by a private holding company in Norway. The boats are built at a modern well-equipped facility in Vastervik on the east coast of Sweden and more recently Ostroda, Poland. Whether you are buying a new or brokerage Windy, the build quality is guaranteed and that is why they command such strong residual values on the open market, tending to age much more gracefully than their production counterparts do. Clients often say to us that they have always been inspired to own a Windy one-day and its gives us great pleasure as brokers to make that dream a reality.

Windy 37 Grand Mistral, THAISA is a shining example, built out of Norway in 2007. This 37 Open proved to be extremely popular in both hard top and open versions. The first 37 Grand Mistral left the factory in the late 90s and 23 years on the design is still turning heads in the marina.
