Nautor Swan 40, COOKIE MONSTER

Broker’s Comments

We had the pleasure of selling this boat new to the current owner. She has been a freshwater boat all her life and has mostly been used for Tuesday night beer can racing, so she has rarely been slept on, and the cooker has never been used!

COOKIE MONSTER is hull number 117—i.e., the 17th Swan 40 built—out of a total of 58 boats produced between 1993 and 2003. She has the standard Swan white gelcoat single-skin hull, with Nautor blue gelcoat stripes and a glued-down 10mm teak deck, which is in excellent condition.

Below deck, she features the standard layout: a V-berth forward upholstered in blue fabric, with a hanging locker, shelves, storage, and a small seat. To port is an ensuite head with a handheld shower and vanity sink.

The main saloon has twin settees in blue leather, a drop-leaf table on the centreline, lockers to port in place of a pilot berth, and additional lockers to starboard.

Aft to starboard is the navigation station, with a desk and seat. Opposite, to port, is the longitudinal galley, equipped with a front-opening fridge, an unused stove, and a double sink inboard. The countertops are Corian.

The spacious aft cabin also has an ensuite head, a double bed to starboard, and a single bed to port.

The engine is a very quiet Nanni Diesel 35hp.

We have thoroughly enjoyed cruising and light club racing on COOKIE MONSTER on Lake Michigan, based in Chicago during the summers and winter-stored at Larsen’s in Waukegan. German Frers has designed—and Nautor has built—a fun and lively yacht to sail. Like all Swans, she boasts distinctive good looks and impeccable build quality.
