THEA is a well-presented 1998 Swan 44 MkII, representing the exceptional build quality, timeless styling, and outstanding sailing performance for which Nautor Swan is renowned worldwide. Designed by German Frers, the Swan 44 MkII combines elegant lines with a powerful yet easily managed sail plan, making her equally capable as a fast offshore cruiser or a rewarding coastal passagemaker.

THEA is hull number 133 of the Swan 44 series. Built between 1996 and 2002, the Mark II was one of 68 hulls produced and represented a redesign of the original Sparkman & Stephens-designed Swan 44. She was originally named SWALLOW.

Purchased by her current owner in 2022, she has been thoughtfully upgraded and enjoyed as a comfortable cruiser. The owner sought a yacht with classic Swan pedigree that could be handled short-handed with ease – and THEA has delivered on every front.

The Swan 44 MkII remains widely regarded as one of the most successful models in the Nautor lineup, offering an exceptional balance of performance, sea-kindliness, and comfort.

Owner’s Comments

I bought THEA because she is a Swan. To me, she is the Bentley of the sailing world—combining timeless elegance with outstanding engineering, and a yacht that is as rewarding to own as she is to sail. I wanted a true blue-water cruising yacht that would be equally at home on relaxed coastal hops or long offshore passages. She is fast, comfortable, immensely capable, and inspires complete confidence in a wide range of conditions.

Following my purchase, her first passage was from Suffolk Yacht Harbour to her home berth in Portland, Dorset. Since then, she has cruised extensively along the south coast of England, visiting destinations including Poole, the Solent, the Isle of Wight, and west to Dartmouth.

She has also proved herself an excellent cross-Channel cruiser. THEA sailed to Cherbourg during the D-Day commemorations and has made several enjoyable voyages to the Channel Islands, including Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, and Sark. Most recently, she ventured further south to the beautiful walled city of Saint-Malo in northern France.

Owning THEA has been a genuine pleasure. She has taken us comfortably and safely to every destination while providing the quality of sailing experience for which Swan yachts are renowned. She is a yacht that encourages you to cast off the lines, confident that she will look after you wherever your next passage may lead.
