SLOW GIN is an excellent example of this sought after model from Beneteau. The Beneteau Oceanis 523 is easy to handle when shorthanded as well as able to handle a full crew around a racecourse.

On deck, the foredeck has a windlass that services twin anchor rollers and the deep chain locker. The side decks are clean, with jib-sheet tracks well inboard by the cabin trunk. The mast rails are a welcome detail, though with every conceivable line led to the cockpit, they are almost redundant.

The cockpit functions well between both sailing and a socialising space. Wide, deep-backed seats provide security and support in both roles, and the permanent table provides a handy bracing point. A pair of doors across the aft end of the cockpit provide access to the large swim platform in the scoop transom.

Descending the 523’s companionway, you enter a spacious saloon. Immediately to starboard there is a Nav station, facing forward and flanked by the electric panel and space for instruments. The well-laid out galley has ample of space, while the saloon can comfortably sit plenty and a perfect place to socialise down below. All three cabins have double beds with each having an en-suite heads. As a benefit, there is a forward crew cabin with separate access and En-suite head, giving four cabins in total a plus for a yacht of this size.

Not often for sale in the UK, this spacious, powerful family Beneteau boasts an extensive inventory including new main and genoa (2021), bow thruster, Raymarine EBO plotter/GPS/radar, dinghy and outboard, liferaft, cockpit cushions, folding prop, sprayhood and bimini, electric winches, cruising chute plus much more.
