These evergreen, aft-cabin cruising yachts are increasingly rare on the market, enjoying long lives as floating homes from the Mediterranean to the south coast of the UK.
Trader 535 Signature, TARILIAN features the tried-and-tested Trader layout, offering a full-beam, palatial master suite on the same level as the aft galley. This layout provides plenty of light, ventilation, and vast amounts of storage for crew gear – one of the reasons why these boats are so well-suited for extended periods on board.
The Signature branding indicates that she carries her dinghy low down on the broad aft bathing platform, alongside a heavy-duty passarelle/crane for launching and recovery.
The raised aft deck is shaded and protected by a solid, GRP-moulded hardtop, creating a flat, spacious outdoor terrace for enjoying the view, dining, or relaxing with a drink. All the surfaces underfoot here are laid with teak, and the entire area can be enclosed with canvas screens if needed. It also features easy access to the bathing platform and both side decks.
For Mediterranean cruising, the ample flybridge – featuring a central helm station and seating on all sides under a protective bimini – is a perfect space. It also provides excellent sunbeds on the aft deck roof. The main saloon can be entered via the starboard deck sliding side door or the aft deck sliding door.
With all-around glazing, the superb saloon is one of the key living areas on this yacht. Complete with an oval dining table and a wrap-around settee, this “room” (and it is indeed a room) flows seamlessly forward into the pilothouse, which is perfectly laid out for extensive cruising with forward-facing helmsman and co-pilot seats.
The forward companionway leads down to both forward cabins and a large, shared head/shower, while the aft companionway leads down to the galley and the aft en-suite. The entire yacht is lavishly trimmed with carefully selected, satin-varnished teak. The skilled joinery and high-quality fittings reflect the expertise of the shipwrights who built these Traders. These yachts are deservedly popular due to their reputation for solidity, longevity, and exceptional levels of space and volume.
TARILIAN has been in a long-term ownership of some 17 years, and her diligent Owner has kept her up to scratch, professionally maintained (please see the schedule later in her specification) and she presents very well as a result. Fitted with both air-conditioning and diesel heating, she is suited to differing climates, and benefits from an updated Simrad navigation system, recent covers and refrigeration equipment.
She is a seriously capable and comfortable cruising motor-yacht, and ideal for exploring all that the Mediterranean has to offer.
We chose TARILIAN, our Trader 535, in 2009 after extensive research of the market for Traders and similar trawler-style cruisers, building on our experience with different types of charter yachts in the Med. The 535 perfectly combines the generous and luxurious accommodation of a live-aboard with serious passage-making capabilities for enjoyable extended cruising holidays and long stays. We knew she would be perfectly suited to our plan for a transfer cruise from Falmouth in Cornwall to the Med and on to Croatia over 2011 and 2012, and she has never disappointed us. Visiting the highlights of the Portuguese and Spanish Atlantic coasts en route, alongside extended stays in Menorca, Sardinia, and Sicily on the way to Croatia, became highlights of our boating lives and created lifetime memories. In the following years, we enjoyed exploring the wonderful Croatian Adriatic coast and islands during annual holiday trips, taking us to all the nicest places between Venice and Montenegro.
Throughout my ownership, I have taken pride in looking after TARILIAN and keeping her ‘shipshape.’ In addition to annual maintenance and service works in the water and on land, I regularly addressed issues as they appeared, commissioning renewals and many improvements. A major refit and upgrade program was completed in 2010 after I took her over, and again recently from 2022 to 2024 to resolve the consequences of her age, incidental damages, and general wear and tear. These latest works ensure the boat is in optimal condition, with further years of reliable, trouble-free performance ahead.
We had just completed servicing, and maintenance works for the 2026 season when ill health struck, making our future cruising plans impossible.
I am pleased to offer TARILIAN to a new owner, ready to go and in the exact condition I would want her to be in for our own enjoyment.
Ownership from 2010. Invoices can be made available on request.
