SHAYA is the ultimate high-performance bluewater family cruising yacht, elegantly engineered and crafted by Baltic Yachts for simple sail handling and gracious living aboard while visiting all corners of the globe. Her sail plan is fully controlled by hydraulics, including a Southern Spars carbon fibre mast and a 2017 furling boom by Southern Spars.

SHAYA also features a retractable, ballasted bulb keel, twin engines and rudders, and a myriad of additional hydraulic systems to facilitate all the “heavy lifting” normally associated with a yacht of this size.

She underwent a comprehensive €1.4M refit in 2017, followed by a smaller refit in 2023, which included removing and refurbishing the rig for insurance inspection.

SHAYA’s comfortable layout includes a large, low-profile pilothouse/saloon with a complete helm station, five private staterooms with en-suite heads, separate crew quarters, a gourmet galley with full amenities and substantial refrigeration, as well as comprehensive electronics (replaced in 2023) and entertainment systems. These features are all housed within a high-performance Judel/Vrolijk hull constructed from advanced composites, with interior joinery in varnished teak crafted to the highest Baltic Yachts standards.

SHAYA is a remarkable yacht, offering highly flexible accommodation suitable for a wide range of uses – from bluewater adventure sailing to coastal cruising with family, and an ideal layout for chartering.

She has several unique selling points: the lifting keel and twin rudders give her a shallow draft; the distinctive opening tender garage allows safe access to the tender, particularly for those less agile; and the open, sociable interior enhances life aboard.

SHAYA has recently returned from an Atlantic-side cruise and is now ashore in Galicia, ready for her next owner to refit as desired and continue using her as she was designed to be.

Owner’s Comments

SHAYA is a stunning 87-foot yacht built by the renowned Baltic Yachts.

She is a superb example of Baltic Yachts’ uncompromising build standards and exceptional quality.

Her hull is constructed from Kevlar for maximum strength and durability.

No expense was spared by her original commissioning owner, a German hydraulic business magnate. His technical expertise is clearly reflected in the yacht’s advanced systems, including a hydraulically operated lift and fold-down mid-cabin roof. This allows guests to be either protected from the elements or enjoy the open air at the touch of a button.

Another impressive innovation is the “bat tender boat” launch and retrieval system. The aft section of the transom opens hydraulically, enabling the tender to be driven in and out of the yacht without passengers getting their feet wet.

SHAYA’s rig was removed and fully serviced in Valencia in September 2023.

The current owner has invested significantly in upgrading her systems—most notably the electronics, full rewiring, and a comprehensive rig inspection. While he originally intended to enjoy her for many years, he is now a very reluctant seller due to unexpected business difficulties.
