Broker’s Comments

EVE is a striking S&S design, built by Nautor Swan in 1981, and n°35, near the end of the series, that many believe delivered the best looking yacht in the world. This Nautor Swan 65 represents a particularly well-cared-for example of one of the most iconic bluewater yachts Ever built, combining timeless Nautor Swan pedigree with a thoughtful and substantial program of recent upgrades.

Purchased by her current owner in 2015, the yacht has since benefited from continuous investment and meticulous maintenance, ensuring she remains in excellent cosmetic and technical condition. A major highlight is the full teak deck replacement completed in 2023, a significant capital upgrade that immediately sets her apart from many comparable vessels on the market. Further improvements include the installation of a modern lithium battery bank, enhancing onboard energy efficiency and autonomy, along with removable davits, increasing versatility for tender handling without compromising her clean deck aesthetics. Numerous additional upgrades and refinements have been carried out over the years, reflecting an ownership philosophy focused on both reliability and ease of use.

Importantly, the yacht is maintained in true “go-anywhere” operational condition, under the attentive care of a dedicated and passionate captain who ensures that all systems, machinery, and onboard equipment are consistently serviced and ready for immediate cruising.

The Swan 65 is widely regarded as a benchmark for ocean-going performance and structural integrity, originally conceived as a capable offshore cruiser with proven long-distance credentials . This particular example successfully blends that heritage with meaningful modern upgrades, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a classic Swan that is not only beautifully preserved but also fully aligned with contemporary cruising expectations.

In summary, she is a turnkey, extensively upgraded Swan 65, ideally suited to an owner seeking pedigree, reliability, and immediate usability without the need for further major works.

Owner’s Comments

I previously owned various yachts that I used for cruising and racing the Australian coast but, in 2015 decided I would like to sail around the world. When the Italian registered S&S Swan 65 sailed into Sydney harbour and was offered for sale, there was no doubt that she was the boat for my global adventure. I had to delay my around the world for a few years and so spent 5 delightful years with EVE in Australian and South Pacific waters. We completed 4 Sydney to Hobart yacht races with a 3rd place best result and also did the Sydney to Noumea (1000nm) race in 2018 with a first place. The Swan 65 slips gracefully through smooth water with surprising speed for a full displacement boat. But she is simply amazing in strong winds and rough seas. I remember a heave-to in 60kt winds and horrendous seas half way between Sydney and Lord Howe Island – EVE handled it so well that we just went to sleep to wait out the storm.

We have lavished EVE with improvements and upgrades include B&G H5000 instruments, Lithium battery system, fuel polisher, removable davits, brand new laid teak deck in 2023 and a complete hull re-fairing in 2025 (which really improved her slipperiness through the water). She’s setup for sailing like the old days with up to 5 sails up at once including the mizzen staysail – guaranteed to turn heads.

Our planned around the world departure in 2020 was disrupted by covid and so we finally left late 2022 via Indonesia, Seychelles, Djibouti and Suez. Then we have had some great season in Europe Med including the 2024 Fastnet (won the swan cup) and Middle Sea race. It is with reluctance that we sell her now – just not enough time to complete the circumnavigation. But for the new owner, this is a VERY well tested yacht. All bugs and irritations associated with older yachts like this have been fixed and she works like a dream.
