Broker’s Comments

AZUR is a well-loved and much-enjoyed example of the popular Beneteau Oceanis 40, a capable cruising yacht that offers an excellent balance of comfortable accommodation, manageable sailing, and generous cockpit space.

Her owners have been berthing holders at Berthon for many years, and AZUR has clearly been set up with comfortable cruising in mind. Her three-cabin layout provides an impressive amount of accommodation for a yacht of this size, with a particularly spacious and light saloon, two heads compartments and plenty of room for family and friends aboard.

On deck, twin helm stations create a practical and sociable cockpit, while a bow thruster makes handling in tighter marinas that much easier.

The teak decks have recently been cleaned and have come up very nicely. Combined with the recently updated sprayhood and sail cover, AZUR presents particularly well on deck. Below decks is where she really impresses, with very little wear evident and an interior that retains the feel of a much newer yacht. The upholstery is in great condition, while the bilges, engine bay and heads are all notably clean.

The one area that would benefit from future attention is her dark blue hull, which has suffered from UV fading over the years, as is common with coloured GRP hulls. This is cosmetic and could be addressed with either a hull repaint or wrap. With this completed, AZUR would make for a particularly smart and notably well-presented example.

For those looking for a proven family cruiser with plenty of space both above and below decks, AZUR represents an appealing package. She is lying in Lymington and ready for viewing.

Owner’s Comments

We both sailed over the course of years and had the opportunity to buy Azur in 2016 after we moved to Lymington. We have loved sailing her around the Solent and even sailed to Guernsey and the Channel Islands one season. Azur has a very sociable layout both below decks and in its cockpit and we have entertained friends and family on her over the years.

Due to family commitments, in the last 3 years we have had little time to sail her. Certainly not as much as we would like and have made the difficult decision to sell her. We have loved Azur and hope someone else will have the pleasure and opportunity to enjoy this wonderful boat and use her to her full potential.
