The McConaghy MC60 catamaran is a very modern performance catamaran, designed by Jason Ker, a UK based naval architect well known for his forward thinking yacht designs, particularly in the field of race yachts and the Americas Cup, where his designs still are amongst the top in the world.
The DNA of the MC60 certainly carries this through, and with the lightweight construction and excellent build by McConaghy yachts in China, she performs beautifully at sea, both for cruising and in regattas.

And sea trial here:
BYZANTINE has many very clever design touches, one of which is the twin flybridge helm stations, both offering excellent visibility in all 4 corners of the yacht, and she also has all the sail controls leading up to power winches in the centre, and the whole yacht can be sailed from there.
The interior has a very clever inside outside feel, with the side windows that open fully and the aft doors that slide away giving a huge workable living space, with a 3 cabin layout the whole starboard hull is for the owner with island double aft, dressing area with TV and heads and shower area forward.
On the other side of the yacht, the twin aft cabin has its own en-suite and the forward high island double also has its own en-suite, The cleverly placed hull windows in all three cabins give views across the water in both sitting and lying positions.
The main saloon is a very a spacious and sociable space, with the popular galley up arrangement and a huge amount of storage space. The Navigation area is positioned well with a full view, but does not impact on the saloon area, with a small seating arrangement forward and then the larger area aft to the same side.
Systems wise the yacht has excellent access to all systems, the engines have excellent access and have been very well maintained by a fastidious skipper. Electrical systems in the starboard hull also and are all very easily accessed and maintained.
BYZANTINE is a really very good option for someone looking for distance cruising with or without crew, who may like to regatta form time to time with friends and has a huge and social living space. She really is a gem.
