Mighty FPB 97 ICEBERG at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show – 27th to 31st October
October 5th, 2021
FPB 97 ICEBERG – the largest and fastest of the FPB fleet from Dashew Offshore, is currently crossing the Atlantic from the Canaries to take her place at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show – 27th to 31st October; in the Hall of Fame, Berth 315.
At 111 feet overall, the transatlantic crossing is a chance to stretch her legs and to run at her transatlantic cruising speed of over 12 knots, with a crew of 3.
FPB 97 ICEBERG offers phenomenal range and is designed to surf in the correct conditions at speeds of over 20 knots consistently, providing fast, safe and comfortable passage-making without the need for numerous fuel stops.
With her rugged aluminium construction, and put together with care by Circa Marine in New Zealand in 2014, she is the ultimate solution for serious family cruising in any ocean. She also offers recovery from capsize in the bluewater armoury.
With her large teak decked ‘Matrix Deck’ (a flybridge aboard other yachts), she has superb vision and this is a relaxed space in which to spend time. Below – her ‘Great Room’ (or deck saloon) offers 360 degree vision with a large galley and plenty of space for living well aboard. There is a spacious aft deck for alfresco dining and a comfortable covered seating area forward of the Great Room.
On the lower deck, there is a vast Owners’ Stateroom with access into a proper man cave for toys, spares and all manner of kit – all properly laid out for easy access. Of course, a large deck hatch provides access also. Aft of the Owners’ Quarter are 2 spacious guest cabins and aft of that, crew accommodation for a couple and wonderful access into her spacious and well laid out engine room.
Reliability and comfort are key in providing a good platform for off-grid cruising. FPB 97 ICEBERG has built in redundancy of all systems. The fit out of the yacht was planned to provide excellent, easy access to all systems, which is so important for extended cruising. Her large stabilisers are housed in coffer dams, making for a very comfortable platform for extended periods at sea.
FPB 97 ICEBERG is unique and very special. She has been immaculately maintained and she was repowered in 2017 with twin 500hp John Deeres. She has been skipper maintained throughout life and has notched up around 50,000 nautical miles of trouble free cruising in this ownership.
