Owner’s Comments

We bought TROUBADOUR on the beautiful island of Elba, Tuscany, in 2012 and sailed her home to England. That delivery was the beginning of a very special relationship with a yacht that has given us an enormous amount of pleasure and many memorable miles at sea.

Since then, TROUBADOUR has enjoyed a varied life of racing and cruising. We competed at Cork Week, where we were delighted to win our class, as well as numerous regattas and races, including the Guernsey Swan Rendezvous, Cowes Week and the 2019 Fastnet Race.

She is a wonderful yacht to race and is immensely rewarding to sail. What has always impressed me most, however, is the confidence she inspires when the weather turns against you. She feels safe, solid and completely at home in a seaway, simply putting her shoulder down and powering her way through the waves. At the same time, her comfortable accommodation means she is equally capable of leaving racing behind and enjoying relaxed family cruising.

TROUBADOUR is also a yacht with real presence and character. She turns heads wherever she goes, whether sailing past under full canvas or sitting quietly in a marina. Young sailors and old sea dogs alike regularly stop to admire her or ask about her history. She is one of those yachts that people seem to form an instant affection for.

Unfortunately for TROUBADOUR, her current custodian no longer lives nearby and cannot give her the time and attention she needs. She has, however, been professionally looked after by Elephant Boatyard on the Hamble River, one of the UK’s most highly regarded yards for yachts of this type.

I am heartbroken to part with her, but age catches up with all of us and the time has come for TROUBADOUR to begin her next chapter. She deserves a new custodian who will appreciate her character, look after her properly and give her the time and TLC she so richly deserves. In return, she will provide her next owner with a very special yacht.
