Oyster 625, YOLO

Oyster 625, YOLO is the perfect size. Compact enough for family sailing yet with space enough to run with crew if needed. From 2019, she was built for this owner and is highly customized for world cruising. She has a centerboard with twin rudders giving her huge flexibility with the cruising that she can do. YOLO has been meticulously maintained and there is no outstanding jobs list. She is successfully participated in the Oyster World Rally 2022/2023 and is now available to her new owner. She is a recent and very well sorted Oyster 625 that will take her new owner far. She has been fully crewed through life and has been meticulously maintained. She has a dynamic maintenance record which is always fully up to date. She had a full rig check in Antigua before her recent transit across the Atlantic and the port D1 was replaced. New North sails have been ordered for her which are an upgrade on the original fit and which will be available to her new owner.

Owner’s Comments

We looked at all premium yachts in the 60’ range and ultimately the Oyster 625 ticked the most boxes for us, particularly the upgrade to a centreboard. YOLO was the last 625 built. When we built YOLO, Oyster had just announced the 595, but at that time there was no centreboard option available.

However, except the swimming platform, we could incorporate all the new features the 595 offered:

• Twin rudders.
• Stern thrusters.
• 3 x Heads two full width staterooms that allowed for extra storage under the berths.
• 2m draft centreboard up / down 4.3m.

The centreboard was certainly the most important option for us, not only allowing us to go into places most other 55-65’ yachts cannot go, but also offering much more flexibility in regards to tidal restrictions.

Due to ill health, YOLO was laid up until September 2019 and then COVID happened, so her first cruise did not take place until June 2021. We have just completed taking part in the Oyster World Rally. Once YOLO has found a new home, we will be looking at moving up to a larger yacht, hence our decision to sell.
