Princess Yachts have always been masters of the 40-45’ flybridge market, with the Princess 40 and sublime 42 laying down a heavy gauntlet for their younger sisters to pick up. Combining enough space for relaxed family cruising, their size and weight ensures that they are eminently manageable by a couple, with good storage volume, decent range and long flybridges to make the most of the weather. The 43 was launched late in 2013 with a much-improved flybridge and evolved interior styling and light (especially thanks to the new deeper-cut saloon windows), and instantly won its category in Motor Boat of the Year.
This 2016 Princess 43 is in lovely condition, with a sensible amount of use, highly practical UK cruising specification, and dependable, reliable shaft drive propulsion. Stepping on board into the sheltered aft cockpit, this feels like a much larger yacht – with access from both sides of the bathing platform, side deck steps, a large central seating area, and a large deck hatch for engine inspection forward and lazarette entry aft. Teak-treaded stairs lead up to her flybridge deck, which is also laid in teak, and offers two large seating areas, the optional wet bar, large aft table, and twin helm seats at the forward console.
Her interior is trimmed in the satin gloss American Walnut upgrade option, with contrasting carpets lending a calm, sophisticated feel throughout. There is a huge amount of light coming in through the slim-mullioned, wrap-around windows in her superstructure and main saloon exploits its space with a large U-shaped sofa to starboard and a two-seater sofa facing it to port. The large table will allow plenty of guests to eat, whilst a hi-lo pops up to transform the area into a cosy lounge. Heading forward and down a pair of steps is a fully fitted galley, conveniently dropped down a level to the port side, with a large worktop area, gas hob, sink, fridge, and oven. There is plenty of light again here, and a washer-dryer is neatly tucked away beneath the saloon stairs in a super-practical touch. The main forward Master has a raised island double berth, vanity area to port and a tall hanging locker to starboard – with large elliptical opening port-lights and an overhead opening hatch, and the cabin is en-suite to its own heads/shower set to port. Swathes of varnished walnut timber and tactile fabric liners add class and style to this cabin, and she has been obviously cherished. The day head is located to starboard, and has a door from the main lobby, and a private door to the guest twin cabin. With a large walk-in shower, this is a very good-sized facility, and is presented in pristine order. The twin cabin has a large hanging locker, again two opening port-lights, and is trimmed to the same exacting standard as the rest of the accommodation. Thus, she provides a super-versatile layout that would equally suit both the cruising family or a couple looking to enjoy the space she affords.
On the water she is no slouch either, with stiff, light, resin-infused construction giving her Olesinski-designed hull a taut, well-balanced feel, with precise steering and easy handling in marina thanks to her twin variable thrusters. Her flybridge helm is near-central – ensuring great all-round visibility under way and unobstructed sightlines when docking. We note that she had a docking camera added by her current owners, and an aluminium RIB is located on her easy-action Hurley davit system.
Clearly much loved, she is presented in polished, recently-lifted condition – with a full set of new batteries, antifouling, and pre-season maintenance taken care of for the 2026 season.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with this Princess 43. She has provided us with many memorable trips and weekends afloat, whether entertaining friends or spending time with family. She offers a superb combination of Princess build quality, practical accommodation, and excellent seakeeping. She has given us many happy memories, and we hope her next owners enjoy her just as much as we have.”
