Broker’s Comments

OVO is something of a rarity – a 2026 Southerly 420.

Southerly themselves need little introduction. For decades, they have been masters of the variable-draft swing keel. Combined with bright, airy saloons and powerful yet easily managed sail plans, it’s easy to see why they command such a loyal following. The Southerly 420 features a well-sheltered, spacious twin-wheel cockpit, with all lines led aft. The carbon rig comprises a mainsail and twin-furling Solent. With her low-profile deck saloon, striking hull windows and light-grey topsides, she is a very good-looking yacht.

Of course, when we make plans, life sometimes has other ideas. Unfortunately for the current owner, having painstakingly managed the specification and build of OVO, he is now unable to head off as planned. OVO’s build was meticulously overseen by her owner, and she boasts a comprehensive bluewater specification. A watermaker, generator and hydrogenerator are all fitted, while the choice of Raymarine instrumentation and Doyle Stratis sail wardrobe makes it clear that little or no compromise has been made.

Owner’s Comments

OVO was the realisation of a dream — a no expense spared luxury bluewater cruiser. Small enough to be easily sailed short handed, yet with a layout which can facilitate a larger crew and extended passage making in comfort.

As an owner invested in the outcome, I was present full time throughout the finishing stages of the build, ensuring every system was completed and commissioned to my satisfaction. The result is a vessel finished to an exacting standard across every discipline.

A change of personal circumstances has necessitated a reluctant sale. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a truly brand new, comprehensively equipped yacht without the wait. OVO has undergone a shakedown passage to Guernsey and is currently perfectly positioned for a new owner to take her on the adventure she was built for.
