The legendary Windy 37 Grand Mistral Hardtop is still considered one of the most accomplished all-weather sports cruisers ever built, thanks to its versatile accommodation, build quality, seakeeping, and good, old-fashioned fun on the water. With a deep-vee mile-munching hull by Hans J Johnsen, the 37 is arguably Windy’s most accomplished design ever, and ushered in the age of the hardtop – offering outstanding all-weather year-round capability blended with sweet lines and a level of practicality that is as yet unsurpassed in her class. Being voted Best UK Driver’s Boat probably did her no harm, and the 37 is now relatively rare to the market.

The Windy 37 GMHT “ABOUT TIME” was launched in September 2009 and features an impressive specification, including the larger Volvo D4-300 engines, air conditioning, teak cockpit, extended blue hull stripe, demisters, heating, hot water, and a pristine Light Oak interior – so she really wants for nothing. The current owner (she has only had two.) has done a fantastic job on maintaining the hull and upgrading her engines to the latest EVC-4 new generation network in 2026. “ABOUT TIME” has been cosmetically updated with replacement upholstery and also improved with Raymarine navigation equipment. “I have owned ABOUT TIME for the past ten years. She was my first motor boat after many years of sailing, and throughout that time she has consistently exceeded expectations.

One of her standout qualities is her ability to cover significant distances comfortably at a cruising speed of 27-30 knots while remaining surprisingly economical. She is also an exceptionally capable seaboat, handling a wide range of sea conditions with confidence and ease.

During our ownership, we have cruised extensively throughout the Channel, from St Malo and the Channel Islands to the Isles of Scilly, and she has undertaken every voyage effortlessly. These experiences have created many wonderful memories and have demonstrated both her reliability and versatility.

No expense has been spared in maintaining and upgrading her. Systems have been continuously updated, and she is presented in excellent order, ready for her next owner to enjoy and embark on new adventures.
