Presented here is the eagerly awaited new Moody 48 DS. Like her sisterships, she is from the talented drawing board of longtime Moody designer Bill Dixon and builds on the experience of building several hundred Deck saloon Moodys between 41 and 62’.

She has a big volume hull and is very wide aft, which allows for a very light and airy interior, 360-degree visibility from the deck saloon, and up forward, there are a variety of optional cabin layouts from 2 to 3 staterooms or a utility room. Each cabin has an ensuite head with a stall shower. The galley is full width at the aft end of the deck saloon and optionally has multiple fridges, freezers, a dishwasher, and a microwave. Big hull windows flood the cabins with natural light, along with overhead hatches.

On deck, the wide cockpit has twin tables, and optionally, a further ‘sundowner’ table and two seats are available forward at the bow along with a large sunbed. Storage is abundant with two large cockpit lockers, and a dinghy garage with its own davit for ease of retrieving the dinghy.

Rig options range from a traditional stack pack mainsail and self-tacking jib to fully powered twin headsails and an electric in-mast furling mainsail. Electric winches are standard, making this completely push-button.

The standard engine is a 110hp Yanmar, and this can optionally be a 150hp engine. Coupled with bow and stern thrusters, it will make docking a breeze.
