Broker’s Comments

Designed by Bill Dixon, the Moody 54 was immediately successful and has become a classic ocean going yacht. The balance and power of her underwater sections and lead keel give superb sail carrying and stability for swift passages. These yachts have impressive sailing performance and are designed to be sailed short handed by two people or full crew.

On deck, TAMDHU has one big advantage by having no teak decking and Flexiteek in the cockpit, allowing for easy maintenance and future care. Her sails were all new in 2020 and has an inmast furling mainsail and double furling head sails allow you to trim sails quickly, while the electric primary winches and a heavy duty bow thruster make manoeuvring easy.

Down below she has plenty of space for guests with seven berths in three cabins. The forward cabin has a centreline queen berth, storage beneath as well as two hanging lockers. Next aft, to starboard, is the mid-ship cabin and opposite this cabin is the forward head and separate shower.

The main saloon has a large C-shaped sofa to starboard with a dining table and to port is a smaller sofa. Stowage space is generous throughout, beneath and outboard of the sofas. The navigation station is to starboard with captains seat and a U shaped galley to Port allowing for easy access to the cockpit.

In the starboard passage to the aft cabin is a single berth, storage and access to the engine room. The master stateroom boasts a queen-sized berth, on the centreline, with twin curved settees on either side. There is a generous amount of hanging locker space and drawer storage and a vanity with mirror at the forward end of the stateroom. There is a very large aft en-suite head with separate shower.

TAMDHU has had one owner since new and been extremely well cared for over the years including a list of recent updates carried out. She is ready to immediately cast off and enjoy her next adventures.

I have owned TAMDHU since new and have cruised her to France, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly, Ireland, and Scotland – with just my wife as crew for much of the time. TAMDHU is a seaworthy boat that copes well in difficult conditions and is easily handled with only two persons onboard.
