The Nauticat 42 is an uncompromising long-distance cruiser with high quality in every detail. The Finnish shipyard has truly succeeded in creating a good sailing deck saloon yacht with generous spaces both above and below deck. The hull is well-insulated and reinforced, which combined with a good sail plan, gives you all the opportunities to explore both warmer and colder latitudes. The yacht can be handled both from the cockpit and from the inside pilothouse.

Nauticat 42 AMELIA was delivered in 2009 to her current owner. In addition to the generous standard equipment, she has received all conceivable equipment for longer adventures. Sail handling is safely managed from the cockpit with the help of electric furling mast and electric furling system for the genoa. Maneuvering in tight harbours is easily done with both bow and stern thrusters. AMELIA has been designed for longer trips and lithium batteries assist with onboard power, efficiently charged by solar panels, wind generator, or generator. There are two heating systems on board and for warmer days, an air conditioning system is also available.

Onboard AMELIA, you are greeted by a bright saloon with 360-degree views through the large windows. Forward, you’ll find a practical galley with ample refrigerator and freezer space, and plenty of storage. To starboard of the galley, thereis a smaller dining area that can be converted into an extra bed. In the bow, there is a classic V-shaped double berth and also a single bunk. The forward cabin has a separate toilet with shower. Aft, you’ll find a very spacious owner’s cabin with a double berth and seating. The aft cabin also offers its own toilet with shower and sauna.

The owner of AMELIA has spared no expense to keep her in top condition, and the equipment has been continuously updated to meet the high standards set. In the early years, AMELIA was sailed on a lake and equipped with greywater tanks to meet those requirements. The owner has created a yacht with an impressive list of smart solutions and good equipment. Since 2016, the yacht has been serviced by Vindö Marin and has also been stored indoors during the winter.

AMELIA has been the perfect boat for our voyages. We have been sailing in the Baltic Ocean, exploring the Swedish and Norwegian coastline and visited the beautiful island of Iceland. We also sailed to Shetland Islands and circumnavigated GB via Orkney’s, Outer Hebrides, Isle of Man and Ireland.

Our dream was to take her over the Atlantic and therefore we made big upgrades and equipped her with all necessary equipment. Unfortunately, this trip was delayed because of the Covid situation in the world. That trip can now be done with a new crew, the vessel is turnkey ready!
