Broker’s Comments

The Hallberg-Rassy 39 is a highly popular model from the renowned Hallberg-Rassy yard in Orust, Sweden. Once again, the collaboration between Germán Frers and Hallberg-Rassy proved successful, resulting in a model that remained in production for more than 10 years, with over 200 units built. Boats manufactured between 1991 and 1994 are referred to as the MkI, while the MkII version was produced until 2003. The most significant visual difference between the two versions is the recessed stern with an integrated bathing platform found on the MkII. The hull, sail plan, keel, and rudder otherwise remained unchanged – why alter a winning concept? AGGONDEE is a MkII version, hull #106.

The Hallberg-Rassy 39 offers excellent comfort, featuring two cabins, a spacious saloon with a seagoing galley, a navigation area, and a bright, roomy heads compartment. In the owner’s cabin, there are two separate berths with a central seat between them. Upon entering the boat, the U-shaped galley is conveniently positioned to starboard, providing optimal support for the cook, especially while sailing, without disrupting the boat’s natural flow.

The HR39 features a well-protected cockpit with Hallberg-Rassy’s signature fixed windscreen, ample storage throughout, large stainless-steel water and diesel tanks, and a hull design that ensures a natural, comfortable motion – making it an ideal choice for bluewater cruising. Hallberg-Rassy has a stellar reputation for interior woodwork, and the 39 lives up to this standard. The light mahogany with a matte silk finish, combined with exquisite craftsmanship, creates an exclusive and timeless ambiance on board.

This Hallberg-Rassy 39, AGGONDEE, was originally Swedish-owned and completed a transatlantic crossing with her first owner. She has been based in the US since 2018 and is now with her third owner. A new engine was installed three years ago.

With powered in-mast furling, electric winches, and extensive cruising equipment, this is the complete package – a highly desirable, Swedish-built HR39 and the perfect cruising boat.

Owner’s Comments

After many years of searching for the ideal Hallberg-Rassy or Najad, I purchased this boat through Berthon USA in the summer of 2020 in Florida. We then sailed her up the coast and have primarily based her in Connecticut, cruising extensively to Maine. She is a wonderful boat – easy to sail, comfortable for extended stays aboard, and a highly capable seaboat.
